Poker Time Review
Known for high standards of reliability and security, Poker Time, formerly Royal Vegas Poker, is a poker room that caters for all. They’re even still accepting some US states. Games include Texas Hold’em, Omaha and 7 and 5 card Stud and there are tournaments for all, from buy-ins under $10 to larger, high-stake games. There’s value to be found here too – the weekly $150,000 Guaranteed tourney has a very reasonable buy-in of $60.
The Poker Time Bonus
The 100% up to $200 bonus is respectable. To qualify for this you need to play and earn poker points equal to 2x the bonus amount within 30 days of your initial deposit. The bonus is paid in $10 increments with 20 poker points required for each pay-out.
Poker Time often features ‘mid-month madness’ $200 Hold’em freerolls where you’ll find more timid players competing for a $2,000 prize pot. A top ten place guarantees a pay-out so these tables fill up quickly.
Jackpots for losing
A Bad Beat jackpot is on offer to losing hands containing 4 of a kind or 8’s or better. The pay-out works as follows: 50% of the pot goes to the losing hand, the Bad Beat, 25% is split evenly between the players contributing to the outcome (four or more players must be dealt into the hand), and the remaining 25% goes to the winner of the hand. Better than a slap in the face for losing!

Poker Time also hosts a ‘Magic Hand ‘jackpot of $2500. This gets awarded every 4,000,000 hands that are dealt. One you won’t be following but a nice surprise if you get it.
Leaderboards and Loyalty
There are 3 main leaderboard ‘Power Play-offs’ on Poker Time. Players are divided into levels based on their Poker Players Club Points – the more you play real money, the higher the level you achieve. The Supercharged Power Play-offs are for Blue and Bronze players, VIP Power Play-offs for Gold, Silver and Platinum players and All-in Power Play-offs for those who have competed once or more in either of the former. Prizes vary from $30,000 pots to WPTBootcamp packages or VIP land-based events packages. Top players from the play-offs enter the $15,000 Power Smackdown tournament. All familiar stuff but packaged really well to create a buzz and great sense of competition.
A note on the basics
As far as site functionality, it works well and is not overcomplicated. Players can chat, get play statistics and review table history easily. Overall, no real distractions to a poker room dedicated to good solid poker playing.
